I started this blog as a creative outlet for me to share and talk about all of the little things going on in my life.
In April of 2024 I gave birth to my daughter Alexandra, who is absolutely the light of my life, and the biggest blessing to ever happen to me. That same month I left my corporate marketing job and ever since have been fortunate enough to stay at home with Alexandra full time (huge shoutout to my husband Dax for making that possible)!
It’s now been almost a year of being a full time stay at home mom, and while it truly is a blessing and my favorite career to date, I’ve also struggled with my sense of identity. Something a lot of people don’t really talk about is how your priorities change after becoming a mom. I no longer strive to climb the corporate ladder, but I struggle with imposter syndrome and feeling like I have no ambition because of my priority shift. That’s where ProskyCreative comes in.
At my core I’ve always loved creativity. Sometimes I can be found doing something with my hands like sewing a tote bag that lays flat into a picnic blanket, or doing a DIY kids play kitchen remodel. Other times I’m hooked on a new book and unlocking my Kindle every chance I get to devour the story. I love to try new recipes, especially ones that I can accomplish with a toddler at my feet. I guess you could describe me as a hobby enthusiast.
This blog is really just my way of sharing life as it happens. The projects I’m working on, the things I’m learning, and all the little pieces in between.
Some days that might look like a DIY project, building something around the house, or making party decorations. Other days it might be crafting, sewing, painting, scrapbooking, or working on keepsakes like baby books.
I’ll also be sharing recipes I love (along with my husband’s honest ratings), baby-friendly meals, and the occasional drink recipe. There will definitely be book posts too like what I’m reading each month, recommendations, and little journals about the stories that stick with me.
And of course, motherhood. Becoming a first-time mom, creating my own village, and slowly getting my pink back along the way.
